Dr. Yoon Shin was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in the greater Puget Sound region. She completed her undergraduate education in Psychology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle. After graduation, she was as a teacher for two years until she moved to attend medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She then moved to the Big Apple for pediatrics residency and trained at New York University where she won awards for Resident of the Year and teaching. She is board certified in Pediatrics and practices at both South Sound Pediatrics and Stanford University Children’s hospital in Palo Alto, California.
Dr. Shin currently lives in Olympia and enjoys all things nature including hiking, biking, and skiing, in addition to traveling and photography. She loves spending time with her family, friends, and church. She is excited for the privilege of taking care of children and is looking forward to being a consistent part of their lives and developing strong relationships with families. Dr. Shin is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the South Sound Pediatrics family and serve the community in which she was raised.
